CT Ravi had only complained to the Governor to hide his mistake, claims Siddaramaiah

BJP MLC CT Ravi has only complained to the Governor to hide his wrongdoing, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah claimed in Belagavi on Wednesday.

Minister Lakshmi Hebbalkar has filed a complaint against Mr. Ravi for insulting him by using obscene words. Several members of the Legislative Council have said that they were eyewitnesses to the incident. That is why the police took action against Ravi, he said.

He has made it a big issue saying that the police abused him. The chief minister told reporters in Belagavi that he complained against the government only to hide his mistake and divert attention from the case.

“Cases related to Thursday’s incident have been transferred to the CID. Action will be taken after the investigation is completed,’ he said.

To a question, he said that the Inspector General of Police has suspended the Circle Inspector of Police in Khanapur for allowing the BJP to hold a meeting in his police station. It is wrong to allow a party meeting inside the police station. That is why disciplinary action has been initiated against him, he said.

In a cross-examination, he said that the Commissioner of Police had made it clear that Ravi would be taken from one place to another in his vehicle only for safety and security.

Regarding the incident of someone throwing an egg at MLA Munirathna’s house, he said, ‘The police are investigating the matter as the person involved in the accident has not been identified.
