Tirumala: TTD EO Shyamala Rao said several measures have been implemented to improve cleanliness and overall experience for devotees. Talking to the media persons at Tirumala, he said that programs are being organized to maintain the sanctity of the temple and efforts are being made to make the darshan of Tirumala memorable for every devotee.
“We have improved the quality of Anna Prasadam and Laddu Prasadam, and reduced the waiting time for devotees in queues. Brahmotsavam is organized grandly, and special attention is paid to cleanliness in Tirumala,” said Rao. “Many programs are planned as part of the 2047 Tirumala Vision. We will give spiritual names to 20 guest houses built by donors. Alipiri walkway and parking facilities are also being enhanced in Tirumala.”
Rao said legal action would be taken against the transfer of non-religious employees and strict action would be taken to control unauthorized shops in Tirumala. “We are using pure ghee in laddu prasad, and there are 61 temples affiliated to TTD across the country. There is a need for development through consultation for these temples,” he said.
Addressing other issues, Rao acknowledged the parking problem at the Padmavati Ammavari temple and the increase in the number of devotees visiting Akash Ganga and Papa Vinasanam shrines. He emphasized on the need to develop in these areas. He also said that there is a weakness in the TTD Hindu Dharma Prachar Parishad department, but a committee is being formed to address it.
“The TTD vigilance officers have been working effectively for the past six months to nab those who cheat devotees by assuring them of darshan tickets,” Shyamala Rao concluded.
