Satya Nadella and Shantanu go down memory lane at their alma mater HPS

Hyderabad Public School, Begumpet saw two of its famous alumni from around the world reminiscing about their days at the school and launching a coffee table book, ‘Flight of the Eagle’, to commemorate the school’s centenary.

Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella and Adobe CEO Shantanu Narayan took a walk down memory lane recalling their days at the school, which was sought after for decades until the rise of many educational institutions in the city.

Mr. Satya Nadella returned to the school after 45 years on the school’s 101st anniversary. He recalls how he enrolled in Class 7 after his bureaucrat-father was transferred from New Delhi to Hyderabad. He said that a lot has changed in more than 40 years.

Addressing a small gathering of select alumni, students and faculty, he recalled how his hostel days at school exposed him to new aspects of life, including literature. He recalled some of his hostel mates and school days that instilled a lot of confidence in him.

The famous face of Microsoft said that even if artificial intelligence surpasses human ability in mathematics and logic, the relevance of schools will remain.

Mr. Narayan described how the school environment played a key role in shaping leadership qualities. He also explained what all-round education means to him.
