Asmite Khadi Mela 2024 was inaugurated by Chief Minister of Karnataka in Belagavi

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar inaugurated the Asmit Khadi Mela 2024 at Sardar’s High School grounds in Belagavi on December 26 as part of Gandhi Bharat celebrations.

The event is a part of the centenary celebrations of the 1924 Belgaum Congress session. It will be open till January 4.

Women members of Self Help Groups (SHGs) of different districts are exhibiting their products in the fair. A total of 150 stalls have been kept. In which there are 10 food fairs and 50 khadi stalls.

The exhibition will be open to the public from December 26 to January 4 from 10:30 am to 9:30 pm every day. Admission is free.

Groups will present a cultural program every evening from 6.30 pm to 9 pm.

The items on sale include products made by SHGs in rural and urban areas, such as wooden dolls from Channapatna, Kinnala from Koppal, Molakalmuru sarees, Ilkal sarees, silk sarees, various innovative fabrics, bags made from fibres, spice products, grain products, prices. – Coastal products, variety of khadi products, products made from banana with added fiber, home decor items, Ayurvedic medicinal products, traditional items, household items, newly designed jewelry, and food products.
