Pushpaa 2 Worldwide Box Office Collection Day 19: Allu Arjun and director Sukumar’s ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’ is still enjoying theaters worldwide. Pushpa 2 showed a significant drop in its earnings in India, dropping by around Rs 20 crore. According to industry tracking website Sacnilk, the film collected Rs 32.95 crore in 18 days, but on Monday, 23 December, its earnings fell to Rs 12.25 crore. The film’s success was marred by a tragedy on its premiere date, which resulted in the death of a woman due to a stampede in Hyderabad. The incident sparked widespread outrage, with Allu Arjun summoned to the Chikkadapally police station in connection with the case. The controversy took a new turn on Sunday (December 22) when Allu Arjun’s house in Hyderabad was vandalized by people claiming to be OU JAC (Osmania University Students’ Joint Action Committee).
Allu Arjun had earlier addressed reporters at his residence in Jubilee Hills and expressed grief over the incident, denying the allegation that he had made insensitive comments about the victim’s death. “Something unfortunate happened in my presence, I’m sorry. When people claim that I’m fine because someone died or was hospitalized, that’s character assassination. It hurts to see the false accusations leveled against me,” he said.
Naveen Yerneni of Mithri Movie Makers, the producer of the movie, has donated Rs 50 lakh to the victim’s family on Monday in a spirit of goodwill. Meanwhile, a court in Hyderabad has granted bail to six people in the case. As the investigation into the incident continues, the film’s crew is likely to face more scrutiny and backlash. Despite this, Pushpa 2: The Rule has remained a commercial success, with its box office collections steadily increasing.
