After he refused to return from the place where he was stopped by the police, Basawa and his supporters had a heated fight with the Narmada District Police headed by Rajpipla Deputy Superintendent of Police (DYSP) Sanjay Sharma and attacked the ruling party for creating an atmosphere. fear”.

“The way the BJP is using the administration, police, ED, and other agencies to run the show, they want to create an environment of fear. The constitution is under threat and people should come out to save democracy,” Basava said.

While Narmada police officials said Chaitar was not allowed to march through Narmada in Bharuch district, Bharuch district superintendent of police Mayur Chawda told The Indian Express that the MLA was “trying a stunt” to “pressure the police”.

Chawda said, “Neither Chaitar nor his supporters have been summoned by the Bharuch district police for any questioning or to take their statements in the two cases registered against him. Neither have they arrested him so far nor arrested him… MLA to pressurize the police are attempting a stunt. We have detained around 20 of his supporters who had gathered without taking permission to join his stunt.”

Narmada District Superintendent of Police Prashant Sumbe confirmed to The Indian Express that Chaitar Vasava was arrested on his way to Bharuch.
