Kharge asked Siddaramaiah to open a Nimhans branch in Kalburgi

Kalburgi: Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha and AICC President Mallikarjuna Kharge has called upon Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to prioritize education and health services in Kalyan Karnataka region to set up branches of NIMHANS and Institute of Diabetics in Kalburgi. Kharge also urged the government to help Gulbarga University with funding, staff recruitment, and new departments to enhance higher education opportunities.

Speaking at the inauguration of the new building of the Sri Jayadeva Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences and Research in Kalaburgi, Kharge highlighted the challenges faced by residents of the region, who often travel more than 1,000 km to Bengaluru for advanced medical care.

Kharge lauded the efforts of CM Siddaramaiah and Sharan Prakash Patil in setting up the Jayadeva Hospital, which he also noted completed a decade after the implementation of Article 371 (J). He called on more institutions to follow the example set by educational pioneers like Mahadevappa Rampure, stressing the need to improve access to education and healthcare to address the backwardness of the region.
