2 foreign drug smugglers caught with cocaine capsules worth Rs 33 crore at Delhi’s IGI airport store | Delhi News

The Customs Department said it arrested two foreign drug smugglers at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport earlier this month and recovered cocaine capsules worth Rs 33 crore from their stomachs.

According to customs officials, they arrested Brazilian Lucas Henrique D’Olivera, who arrived at Delhi airport on December 11 from Paris by Air France flight, on the basis of suspicion. During questioning, D’Oliveira revealed that he had swallowed 127 capsules of cocaine.

“He was taken to Safdarjung Hospital, and a capsule containing 1,383 grams of cocaine worth Rs 21 crore was recovered from his stomach through a medical procedure. He was arrested,” said the customs officer.

In another incident, customs officials acted on a tip and arrested a Nigerian, Hendrik Jacobs Rostorf, who arrived on an Ethiopian Airlines flight from Addis Ababa on Dec. 7, officials said.

He told the authorities that 67 capsules were released. During the medical examination, a capsule containing 799 grams of cocaine worth 12 million rupees was removed from the stomach. He has been arrested and further investigation is underway,’ said an official.
