The Prime Minister is scheduled to lay the foundation stone of the main project on January 8 at Anakpalle

Ramesh indicated that there are plans to establish three Kendriya Vidyalayas in the area. These will be in Anakapalle, Narasipatnam and Chodavaram-Madugula areas, enhancing the local educational infrastructure.
He said that initiatives have been taken to turn the 90 km long coastal area of ​​the district into a major tourist center. He said projects aimed at upgradation of Muthyalamma Palem Beach and Alluri Sitaram Raju Memorial Park are currently being planned in coordination between the concerned authorities.
Regarding the infrastructure, he said that tenders will be invited soon for the construction of a 6-lane road from Anakapalle to Rajamahendrabharam. Additionally, efforts are underway to improve road connectivity between Anakapalle and Visakhapatnam.
Another highway proposal to connect Sabbavaram with Madugula, Chodavaram and Narasipatnam is also under consideration.
Ramesh spoke about the strategic focus on Anakapalle and mentioned that the district has attracted a total investment of Rs 2.5 lakh crore in the last six months. This includes a substantial `1.5 lakh crore commitment from ArcelorMittal for a steel plant spread over 2,200 acres, with an earmarked fund of `70,000 crore for the initial phase.
Plans have also been made to set up a third Pharmaceutical Special Economic Zone (SEZ) at Nakappally, similar to the existing SEZs at Achuthapuram and Paravada.
Additionally, efforts are underway to start a new aluminum plant, with the district authorities currently engaged in land acquisition for the project which is estimated to generate an additional investment of around Rs 70,000 crore in the district.
