A boat explosion at a South Florida marina has killed one person and injured five others, according to news agencies The Associated Press.
The explosion happened Monday evening at the Lauderdale Marina, Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue confirmed in a social media post.
Emergency responders transported five people to local hospitals, including three with reported traumatic injuries. A sixth person was found dead in the water several hours later by the Broward Sheriff’s Office.
Officials said that the cause of the explosion is still unknown.
