A bench of Justices BV Nagarathna and N Kotishwar Singh heard the petition on December 20 and sought responses from the states of Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Karnataka.
The mother of Bengaluru-based engineer Atul Subhash, who committed suicide on December 9, has filed a petition in the Supreme Court for the custody of her four-year-old granddaughter, who is with her daughter-in-law Nikita Singhania. Subhash left videos and notes from his wife and in-laws alleging harassment and false allegations.
A bench of Justices BV Nagarathna and N Kotishwar Singh heard the petition on December 20 and sought responses from the states of Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Karnataka.
The bench also directed the states to ‘find out the whereabouts of the minor child’.
