Visakhapatnam:In Canada, a student from Vizag has been found dead under suspicious circumstances. The deceased, 36-year-old Pilli Phani Kumar, hailed from the Gajuwaka area of ​​Vizag and was studying for a professional certificate in supply chain management and project management at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) in Calgary.
Phani Kumar’s father Naga Prasad said he received a call on December 14 from his son’s roommate, a truck driver, who informed him about the tragic incident. The roommate said that Phani Kumar was found dead in their shared residence. However, no further details have been given regarding the cause of death.
Calgary police have seized Phani Kumar’s laptop, passport and belongings, including his body, but the circumstances of his death are yet to be clarified.
The bereaved family has appealed to Visakhapatnam MP Bharat and District Collector for help in bringing Phani Kumar’s body to his hometown for last rites.
