US President-elect Donald Trump has called for a negotiated solution to end the Ukraine war that has been going on for nearly three years. Speaking at the Mar-a-Lago Club in Florida, Trump stressed the need for diplomacy, saying, “There has to be a deal.”

Trump has announced his intention to hold peace talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. He said, ‘It should be stopped.

Although Trump claimed to have a “very good plan” to end the war, he declined to share details, arguing that releasing it prematurely could undermine its effectiveness. His comments came as Zelensky’s administration signaled reluctance to negotiate, citing insufficient weapons and security guarantees.

Andriy Yermak, Zelensky’s chief of staff, said Ukraine is not “yet ready” for talks with RussiaHowever, Zelensky has expressed a willingness to cooperate with Trump. “Of course, we will work with Trump. I want to work directly with him” Zelensky said in a recent interview, reaffirming Kiev’s dependence on American support.
