Three people have been arrested for beating and killing migrant workers in Namakkal

Three persons were arrested on Wednesday (December 18, 2024) for the murder of two migrant workers from Odisha.

The deceased workers, R Munna, 27, and S Dhubleswar, 26, worked in a spinning mill at Vheppadai near Pallipalayam in Namakkal district. On Tuesday (December 17, 2024) morning, both were found dead near the Tasmak outlet in Pathrai.

Weppadai police registered a case of murder and formed a special team to arrest the culprits.

Investigation showed that they were beaten up by other workers after a drunken fight.

23-year-old Rajan Laguri, 20-year-old Mansingh Gagarai and 21-year-old Dhasraddha Bading from Jharkhand were arrested by the police on Wednesday.

The accused were produced before the Komarapalayam court and sent to Salem Central Jail for remand.
