“The Tripura Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) will hold a ‘Baba Saheb Ambedkar Samman March’ on December 24, 2024, in opposition to Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s statement on Dr. Ambedkar in Parliament,” a senior party leader said on Sunday (Sunday). December 22, 2024).

Congress MLA Sudeep Roy Burman told a press conference in Agartala that the party would organize marches in all district headquarters to condemn Mr. Shah’s comments about Dr. Ambedkar.

“We will organize a march in all district headquarters on December 24 to condemn the remarks and demand an unconditional apology from the Union Home Minister for his remarks. Party leaders and workers will participate in the rally and will garland the statue of the original framer of the Constitution,” he said.

“The Union Home Minister’s comment on Babasaheb Ambedkar in Parliament is not a slip of the tongue as they are trying to highlight. It is a calculated comment that exposes the mindset of the party (BJP) about the Father of the Constitution”, said Mr. Roy Burman.

He claimed that Shah had no remorse for his comments about Baba Saheb Ambedkar, the main author of the Constitution.

Mr. Roy Burman alleged that the BJP has wrongfully dragged Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi in the Lok Sabha by filing an FIR to minimize the real issue from public view.
