Visakhapatnam: The Andhra Pradesh State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (APSCPCR) has directed the Railway Police to conduct a detailed investigation into the recent incident involving nine girls detained under suspicious circumstances at the Visakhapatnam railway station.
Gondu Sitaram, a member of the commission, has instructed to submit a detailed report on the case on Sunday. The investigation will explore several angles, including whether the incident is related to human trafficking or legitimate job recruitment.
“We need to understand the full scope of this situation,” Sitaram said in an official statement. Keeping in mind the concerns raised on social media regarding the possible delay in police response, the Commission has requested a specific clarification on the timing of the registration of the case.
The Railway Police has been directed to provide detailed information about the circumstances under which the girls were detained and the incidents leading to their discovery at the station. The results will inform the recommendations to be submitted to the state government by the commission headed by chairman Kesali Apparao.
The commission emphasized that the findings of the report will play a vital role in strengthening preventive measures and improving response protocols for similar cases across the state.
