The Legislative Assembly has paid tribute to environmentalist Tulsi Gowda, who passed away on Monday (December 16, 2024).

81-year-old Gowda, from a tribal family, lost her husband at a young age and lovingly nurtured the tree, treating it like a child. She planted millions of saplings.
Opposition leader R. Ashok recalled how she had blessed Prime Minister Narendra Modi on receiving the Padma Shri award.
