Officials of the Department of Tourism and Forests are implementing several initiatives aimed at increasing the tourist attraction of the region. The 3 km ferry ride will provide tourists with panoramic views of the Kinnarsani River surrounded by lush green landscapes, dense forests and majestic mountains, providing a relaxing and picturesque experience.
In an effort to maintain the natural beauty, the structure will be constructed using bamboo poles instead of concrete. A traditional floating boat called ‘Putti’ made of bamboo will be operated in the designated canal of the Kinnarsani project. Officials have successfully completed test runs of the putty, ensuring its readiness for public use.
Although the Putti Yatra is relatively short, it promises to provide a unique and unforgettable experience for the tourists. Extensive safety measures have been installed, with skilled operators safely navigating the water using long sticks and ropes to manage the putti.
Kinnarsani Wildlife Sanctuary (KWS), bisected by the Kinnarasani River, 7 km from Chinnarvigudem, has become a major attraction in the region. The forest department has built a deer park on the way to the dam while increasing the offerings of the sanctuary. KWS is famous for its exotic wildlife, which allows visitors to observe a variety of animals in their natural habitat. Kinnarsani River flows through the sanctuary before joining the Godavari River.
District Collector Jitesh V. Patel said the addition of boat and theppa (traditional boat) boat services would significantly increase the tourist attraction of the Kinnarsani project. He assured that strict security protocols will be in place to ensure the well-being of all visitors during their ferry ride. In addition, several other facilities are planned for development within the park to enrich the overall tourist experience.
