Hyderabad: The Telangana High Court has expressed its displeasure at the Revenue Divisional Officer, Tehsildar and MPDO of Yadadri-Bhongir district, over which the government has neglected the court’s order to pay compensation to an old man whose land was illegally taken long ago. According to the judgment of November 13, 2022, the court has instructed to appear in court on December 30 if the compensation is not paid.
Justice B Vijayasena Reddy was hearing a contempt petition filed by 86-year-old Rahimuddin, who complained that the authorities ignored the court’s directions in paying compensation for his land seized by the government. without following the required procedure.
When Rahimuddin was working abroad, his land was seized by the local authorities in 2010. Permanent structures such as roads, school buildings, drinking water tanks, borewells, bus stops have been illegally constructed on 1.38 Guntas of land in Survey No. 171 of Gopalpuram Rural Municipality of the district. When Rahimuddin approached the High Court, Justice Reddy in 2022 ordered the authorities to pay the compensation within three weeks. As the authorities failed to comply with the order, Rahimuddin filed a contempt case.
