A case of disappearance was registered after the complaint of Vishnu’s family. Initial investigations suggested his travel plans and last known location in WhatsApp messages and phone records.

However, according to police sources, it was found that the voice message sent by Vishnu to his family that he had reached Kannur was wrong. Initial cyber cell investigations revealed that his last tower location was in Pune, prompting further inquiries.

“We have sent officials to Pune to collect more information and verify the details with army officials at the Pune Army Sports Institute. Currently, there are no significant updates,” said a senior official from Elathur police station. The army is also assisting in the search.

According to Vishnu’s family, he contacted them on December 16 and confirmed his vacation and travel plans. On December 17, around 2:30 a.m., he informed his mother that he had reached Kannur. After this call, her phone was reportedly switched off, and no further communication was received. Concerned about his absence, the family informed the police.

The family has also demanded the intervention of the people’s representatives, ministers and district officials of the local bodies to speed up the investigation.
