Skoda Kylaq received over 10,000 bookings within 10 days

Pune: Czech automaker Skoda has received over 10,000 bookings within 10 days of the launch of its newly launched first compact SUV, the Kylaq.

Deliveries will begin on January 27, 2025, the company said.

This booking milestone underlines the growing interest in Skoda’s latest SUV in a highly price-conscious competitive car market.

Building on this momentum, Skoda Auto India will also embark on a nationwide ‘Dream Tour’ with Kylaq, connecting with customers in major cities.

Three Kylaq SUVs took off on December 13 from the Chakan plant near Pune on three different routes to cover 70 ties and cities across the country in 43 days.

“10 days without a car in the showroom and 10,000 bookings,” said Peter Geneba, brand director, Skoda Auto India.

“These 10,000 bookings have come without any chance for customers to experience the Kylaq, which reflects the unwavering faith in the Skoda brand, and we are extremely humbled,” he said.

The Skoda Kylaq is the brand’s first compact SUV based on the MQB A0-IN platform.

It is positioned below Kushaq and is available in four variants: Classic, Signature, Signature+ and Prestige. Prices start at Rs 7.89 lakh, ex-showroom Mumbai.

The new Kylaq gets an 8-inch digital instrument cluster and a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

The sub-4-metre SUV also features ventilated front seats, electrically adjustable driver’s seat, wireless phone charger, Canton sound system and ambient lighting.

The Kylaq is powered by the familiar 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine, which produces 113 BHP and 178 Nm. It is mated to either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission.
