‘Opposition to street naming for political reasons’

Amid the controversy over naming a KRS road in Mysuru after Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, KPCC spokesperson HA Venkatesh claimed that even BJP and JD(S) leaders would privately acknowledge the Congress leader’s contribution, but oppose him for political reasons.

Pointing out the need to name more than one road after Mr. Siddaramaiah, Mr. Venkatesh, who is also the former chairman of state-owned Mysuru Paints and Varnishes, said a center should also be built to discuss the four decades. – Long political life of the veteran Congress leader, his achievements, his ideologies and principles.

Earlier, Shri Venkatesh also praised Home Minister G Parameshwar for his efficient administration and handling of the Home portfolio.

He said Dr. Parameshwar was described as a rare politician, who could not raise his voice, but stood up for his thoughts and ideas.

Maddikere Gopal, president of Mysuru district unit of Kannada Sahitya Parishad, was also present on the occasion.
