Hyderabad: Chief Minister A Revant Reddy paid heartfelt tributes to former Prime Minister PV Narasimha Rao, whose 20th His death anniversary was celebrated on Monday.
Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Wickremarka while paying floral tributes at PV Ghat said it was a matter of pride for Telangana that the great man was born here.
Highlighting the contribution of Narasimha Rao, Bhatti said that his land reforms as the Chief Minister of undivided AP took a new turn in the history of India. He also praised Narasimha Rao’s role as Prime Minister in steering India’s diversified economy on the right track through India’s liberalization and globalization policies that made India a global competitor.
Narasimha Rao’s family members paid their respects at the mausoleum by Husainsagar.
Union Minister G Kishan Reddy, Minister of State Ponam Prabhakar, Government Advisor K Keshwa Rao and TPCC President B Mahesh Kumar Goud were among many others to pay homage at the PV Ghat.
BRS executive president KT Rama Rao and Narasimha Rao’s daughter and MLC P Vani Devi placed floral wreaths on the portrait of the former prime minister at the BRS office. Rama Rao recalled Narasimha Rao’s contribution in saving India from economic crisis and paving the way for modern India with his visionary leadership.
Pamulaparthi Venkata Narasimha Rao died on December 23, 2004 at the age of 83.
