Abdul Salam murder case: 6 people sentenced to life imprisonment

The Kasargod District Additional Sessions Court has sentenced six people to life imprisonment in the brutal Abdul Salam murder case at Mogral Maliankara Fort in 2017.

The court on Monday sentenced 39-year-old Siddique alias Mangamudi, 29-year-old Umar Farooq, 32-year-old Zaheer, 32-year-old Niaz, 31-year-old Latif Parwad, 36-year-old Harish and 32-year-old Latif Maliankara to life imprisonment. Two people have been acquitted in the case.

Abdul Salam of Pottorimula was killed in the evening of 30th Baisakh 2072. Naushad, who was with Salam at the time of the incident, was also injured in the attack.

Now Bekal Deputy Superintendent of Police Kumbala Circle Inspector VV Manoj led the investigation. On behalf of public prosecutor Suresh Kumar, the prosecution presented 53 witnesses and 16 pieces of evidence including murder weapons and blood-stained clothes.
