Indian all-rounder Akshar Patel announced the birth of his son Haksh Patel on Tuesday through social media. Haksha is the first child of Akshar and his wife Meha.
“He’s still figuring out the off side from foot to foot, but we couldn’t wait to introduce him to all of you in blue. World, welcome Hux Patel, India’s smallest, but biggest fan, and the most special piece of our hearts,” Akshar wrote on Instagram and X wrote
In 2023, Patel tied the knot with long-time dietitian and nutritionist Meha at a ceremony in Vadodara. Reportedly, the couple exchanged vows in a traditional Gujarati ceremony, attended by close friends and family.
Akshar and Meha got engaged in January 2022 after dating each other for a long time. Making their engagement official, Akshar posted a picture of the couple against a surprise proposal setup in the background. “Today is the new beginning of our lives. Together and forever. Love you forever,” her caption read.
Meanwhile, the Indian Express reported that after Ravichandran Ashwin announced his retirement a few days ago, he informed the BCCI that he will not be available for the rest of the Test series between India and Australia due to personal reasons.
Thus, India have issued a first-time call-up to Mumbai off-spinner Tanush Kotian, who will join the squad for the remaining two Tests of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy starting in Melbourne.
Kotian, 26, who won the Ranji Trophy last season and was part of Mumbai’s Vijay Hazare Trophy team in Ahmedabad, will leave for Australia on Tuesday.
