The Ministry of Railways has accelerated the development of the Super App to provide one-stop facilities related to Indian Railways and it may be made public soon, a senior official said.

The official further said that in the first phase, the app will provide reserved tickets, unreserved and platform tickets, train enquiries, PNR enquiries, permission to order food on board, Rail Madad (a help and complaint platform) and fare related services. inquiry

“The Center for Railway Information System (CRIS), on behalf of the Ministry of Railways, is developing a super app to provide a single platform for all public-facing applications of Indian Railways. This app will combine various services offered by Indian Railways, which are currently in different mobile apps, into a single in the user interface and provides seamless navigation,” said the official quoted above.

Officials said that special emphasis has been placed on enhancing both the user interface and user experience. “It can be operational by January next year,” said a senior railway official.

Key Features of the upcoming Railway Super App

The Indian Railways SuperApp will provide the following key services.

Single-sign-on: Users will be able to access all services through single credentials. Further, the same credentials will be used in existing apps of Indian Railways like IRCTC RailConnect, UTS (Unreserved Ticketing System) mobile app etc.

All-in-one app: Currently, there are various apps available for reserved and unreserved bookings. Moreover, to check train movement or schedule details, a separate app needs to be downloaded. All these services will now be accessible through a unified app.

Integrated Services: Officials said services are being integrated to deliver comprehensive information from various sources in a unified and integrated manner.

For example, a PNR inquiry will also display the relevant train information.

Easy Onboarding/Sign-up: Users will also get the facility to use their existing RailConnect or UTS App credentials to onboard SuperApp.

Ease of Login: Multiple login options are provided to enhance the user experience. Once logged in, the app can be accessed later through mpIN or biometric authentication.
