CPSEU criticizes central government’s UPS, calls for collective action

Warangal: The Contributory Pension Scheme Employees Union (CPSEU) has announced a massive public meeting, Kakatiya Kadana Bheri, in Warangal on December 22 to protest against the Central Government’s Unified Pension Scheme (UPS) which will come into force on April 1, 2025.

Speaking at a poster release event in Hanamkonda, CPSEU state president Gangapuram Siththa Pragna criticized the UPS policy, saying it forces employees to lose their lifetime earnings, providing no real benefits unless the government deducts them from their salaries. He claimed that the policy prioritized corporate interest over employee interest and failed to provide social security to workers’ families.

Sthita Pragya emphasized on the need for a collective initiative to oppose the implementation of the policy and urged all the government employees to unite against the policy. He called for a large turnout in the December 22 meeting so that their concerns were heard by the central government.

Association leaders Kalwal Srikanth, Jeevan Kumar and others were present in the event.
