The Chief Minister assured the bereaved family that the state government would provide necessary support as per the existing policy.
The martyrs are Subedar Dayanand Tirkannawar of Belagavi in โโKarnataka, Constable Mahesh Nagappa of Bagalkot, Dhanraj Subhash of Chikkodi in Belagavi district and Anup Pujari of Kundapur in Udupi district.
The accident took place on Tuesday evening in Pir Panjal valley of Poonch district, when an army vehicle skidded off the road. Five soldiers were killed and five others were injured in the incident.
The sacrifice of those soldiers was honored with full military honours, with dignitaries and family members present at the ceremony, who mourned their loss while celebrating their bravery and devotion to the nation.
