New Delhi: Senior BJP leader Anurag Thakur on Monday issued a “chargesheet” against Aam Aadmi Party national coordinator Arvind Kejriwal, accusing him of turning Delhi into a “laboratory of corruption” through a series of “scams”. There was no immediate response from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) to the BJP leader’s allegations.
Ahead of the Delhi assembly elections, the BJP’s state unit has set up an “indictment letter committee” which has issued detailed reports listing the alleged failures of the ruling AAP MLAs so far.
“What kind of party is this which came to power promising a corruption-free government but is involved in eight to nine scams related to liquor policy, Delhi Jal Board, DTC, Waqf Board,” alleged Thakur.
“Ghotale pe ghotala, Kejriwal ne banaya delhi ko gharta ki laboratory” (Kejriwal turned Delhi into a laboratory of corruption through scams), Thakur chanted and claimed that the BJP would oust the Aam Aadmi Party from power in Delhi.
Elections for the 70-member Delhi Assembly will be held in February next year.
The former Union minister also targeted the AAP and Kejriwal on education and health, accusing it of failing to open new mohalla clinics and hospitals and not using central funds to boost the city’s healthcare infrastructure.
He alleged that the smog tower at Connaught Place, which was supposed to provide relief from air pollution, was inoperative despite the Aam Aadmi Party government spending crores of rupees on advertisements.
He said that water scarcity, lack of sanitation, dilapidated roads and other issues surrounded the ruling Aam Aadmi Party.
Thakur also accused AAP of supporting “anti-national” forces and Kejriwal questioned India’s surgical strikes. He said the party had received support from “Khalistani elements” in the Punjab elections.
