Meta-owned WhatsApp will stop working on most Android phones from January 1, 2025.
According to HDBlog, Meta will block access to WhatsApp for devices running Android KitKat. The Messages app is being updated with new AI features, making it harder for older phones’ hardware.
Models above 20 will not be able to access WhatsApp. From January 1, they will have to find other alternative apps.
Here is the list of Android devices:
Samsung: Galaxy S3, Galaxy Note 2, Galaxy Ace 3, Galaxy S4 Mini
Motorola: Moto G (1st Gen), Razr HD, Moto E 2014
HTC: One X, One X+, Desire 500, Desire 601
