Karimnagar: BJP leader and Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay on Tuesday demanded action against contractors who form cartels and fail to complete projects within time in Karimnagar parliamentary constituency.
The minister has asked the district administration office to blacklist the erring contractors and issue notices under section 60. The minister participated in the District Development and Monitoring Committee meeting at the Collectorate in Karimnagar.
Speaking at the meeting, Bandi Sanjay expressed his displeasure over the poor performance of the government hospital despite the substantial budget received from the center in the education and health sectors.
Pointing out that there is a lack of basic supplies and equipment in the hospital, the minister expressed concern about the condition of the poor who depend on government facilities.
He ordered the Collectors to conduct a thorough investigation into allegations of large-scale irregularities in the appointment of the National Health Mission and to take action against those responsible for the same.
Seeking clarity on the Smart City project works, the minister said the Center would release funds only after the remaining works are completed. He said that new projects will be approved only after the old projects are completed.
He criticized the practice of cooking lunch with firewood despite free gas connection. The health of hundreds of school children will be at risk due to smoke from firewood. From now on, all schools in Karimnagar and Sirilla districts have instructed to cook food on gas stoves.
He appreciated the authorities for providing assistance to the disabled persons of Karimnagar and Sirsilla districts and directed the officials to collect the details of the remaining requirements and costs to get the required equipment to all the disabled persons. If necessary, he said that the MP would approve funds from LADS.
