A family feud over benefits in Andhra Pradesh has culminated in a double murder

Nekarikallu (Andhra Pradesh): A 28-year-old woman killed her two brothers because she feared she could claim her dead father’s employment benefits and property, a police official said on Monday.

Palanadu District Superintendent of Police K. Srinivasa Rao said that Krishnaveni of Nekarikallu village strangled his elder brother police constable Gopi Krishna (32) and younger brother (26) in a drunken stupor.

“The sister killed both her brothers. Her father was a teacher, and she feared that her brothers would take control of her retirement benefits, house and land,” Rao told PTI.

Krishnaveni told the police that she killed her younger brother on November 26 and her elder brother on December 10. On both occasions he strangled them with a chunni (scarf) after drinking them.

According to the police, with the help of her uncle, she dumped the body in a local canal using a two-wheeler.
