A girl aged around three fell into a borewell in Rajasthan’s Kotputli-Behror district, and the NDRF and SDRF have been deployed to rescue her from the 150-feet deep borewell, officials said.
A girl named Chetna accidentally slipped into a borewell while playing in her father’s field in Sarund area, police said.
βTeams of NDRF, SDRF and the administration are trying to continue the rescue operation. We have placed a ring under the girl so we hope to rescue her soon… The girl’s health condition has not deteriorated,” Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Brajesh Chaudhary said while talking to mediapersons.
However, SDRF sub-inspector Ravi Kumar highlighted the challenges posed by the surrounding soil. βThe soil around him has become compacted due to moisture, making further digging difficult. Despite these setbacks, we are trying our best and are unsure of the time required,β Mr. Kumar added.
NDRF and SDRF teams have reached the spot and are trying to pull out the girl with the help of a hook attached to a rod, Sarund SHO Mohammad Imran said.
The movement of the girl was captured through a camera and an oxygen pipe was lowered into a borewell to supply oxygen.
“The girl is trapped at a depth of about 150 feet. Her movements are being monitored,” he said.
Earlier, Industries Minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore had spoken to the authorities and directed to ensure the speedy rescue of the girl.
Two weeks ago, a five-year-old boy fell into a borewell in Dausa district. The rescue operation lasted for more than 55 hours but the child could not be saved.
