2 Bangladeshi terrorists arrested in joint operation with Assam Police Kolkata News

In a joint operation, the Special Task Force of Assam and West Bengal police arrested two suspected terrorists from Hariharpara in Murshidabad on Thursday. The arrested have been identified as Abbas Sheikh from Bahran area and Meenarul Sheikh from Kedartala and are suspected to be working for Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen and JMB from India.

The police arrested them in a dawn raid and seized four mobile phones, a pen drive, Islamic religious books and fake documents from the suspects.

“Abbas Sheikh was arrested earlier in the fake passport case,” an official said, adding that both the men are being interrogated to gather information.

According to the Assam Police, five people have been arrested, two of them from West Bengal, one from Kerala and two from Dhubri. The police also suspected that the accused had planned some violence. However, this matter is being investigated.
