Varun Dhawan is currently busy promoting his upcoming film Baby Johnrecently spoke about the need for more diverse representation in Bollywood. In a conversation with Ranbir Allahabadia on his podcast, Varun emphasized the importance of having “more voices” from outside Mumbai and other metropolitan cities.
Varun believes that the industry needs more tier two and tier three representation. When asked if this is possible even in today’s situation, he replied, “It used to happen before, didn’t it?” Why is it not happening now? Because it has become a bit difficult to decide whether you want to not only enter the industry but also become an actor or an influencer or be in OTT. Now there are more options.”

Varun also talked about the need for change and reinvention in the industry. He believes that those in power should adapt to the changing times. “We all have to move forward. Those who are now in powerful positions, have age limits, have been doing the same work for years. They are the only ones in leadership. I don’t know if they recognize it but it is important to change with time. We all have to do this or we will lose relevance, including me. “
However, Varun admits that reinventing it is not an easy task. “It’s hard because you don’t want to change,” he said. He also explained how actors are often surrounded by ho-men, but noted that this is not the case for big stars. “Upcoming stars or those who are still aspiring have these circles but those who are already at that stature, they don’t have these people around them. Stars like Shahrukh Khan, Salman Khan, Aamir Khan are not Delulu. They know what’s going on.”
Varun’s commentary offers a nuanced perspective on the state of the Bollywood industry and the need for change and diversity. In an exciting development, Salman Khan is all set to make a special cameo appearance in Varun Dhawan’s Baby Zone. Directed by Kallis and produced by Atlee, the film is gearing up for its theatrical release on December 25. Along with Varun, the film has an impressive cast including Wamika Gabbi and Keerthy Suresh.
