The Andhra Pradesh government has declared Rath Saptami as a state festival for three days at the Sri Suryanarayana Swamy Temple at Arasavalli in Srikakulam district.

The decision was taken following a proposal by the Endowments Commissioner, highlighting the temple’s annual income of Rs 11.26 crore and its popularity among devotees in Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, and Telangana.

S. Satyanarayana, Secretary, Endowments Department issued GOMS No. 291 in this regard on Thursday.

Rath Saptami will be celebrated on February 4, 2025. Adequate temple income ensures self-sufficiency of the festival without government financial assistance.
