Thailand has made it easier for Indians to travel by introducing an electronic visa (e-visa) system starting January 1, 2025. The Thai Embassy in New Delhi announced an update on Wednesday, providing important details for applicants.

The e-visa system will allow applicants to apply for all types of visas through the official website, thaievisa.go.th Applicants can submit their applications in person or through a representative, although the embassy has clarified that it will not be responsible for incomplete applications submitted by representatives.

Visa applicants will be required to pay the visa fee offline. Specific details about payment options will be shared by embassies and consulates. It is important to note that visa fees are non-refundable under any circumstances.

The e-Visa system makes applying easier and faster as the embassy will process visa applications in approximately 14 working days after receiving payment.
When will the e-Visa system be available?
For those applying under the current system, applications for ordinary passports submitted to designated visa processing companies will be accepted until December 16, 2024. For diplomatic and official passport applications, the deadline is December 24, 2024.
60-day visa waiver
The embassy has confirmed that the 60-day visa exemption for Indian passport holders for tourism and short business trips will continue until further notice.
