Congress always hated Ambedkar; In 2012 NCERT book included ’embarrassing’ cartoon: Dharmendra Pradhan

Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Thursday (Dec 19, 2024) slammed the Congress, alleging that it has always hated BR Ambedkar and even included a cartoon depicting Jawaharlal Nehru “Kora” Ambedkar in the NCERT textbook. He claimed that Congress’s ‘crocodile tears’ about Ambedkar was just a play.

“Suddenly Congress has got a lot of respect for Babasaheb Ambedkar. This magali tears of Congress for Babasaheb is just an excuse, there is a big difference between their words and actions. Congress party’s hatred and hatred for Babasaheb is well known,” Mr. Pradhan wrote in a post on X.

The Union Education Minister said that during the Congress-led UPA-II government’s rule, the NCERT textbook for Class XI in 2012 included a ‘shameful’ cartoon showing Pandit Nehru Babasaheb Ambedkar being “whipped”.

“Following strong opposition from the BJP, the then HRD minister Kapil Sibal apologized and announced that it would be withdrawn.

‘Obviously, such a shameful act cannot be done unknowingly, this cartoon filled with hatred towards Babasaheb was published only after approval of the royal family and the whole country knows who was in control of the government at that time’, Mr. Pradhan said.

The Union Education Minister said, “These corrupt people who gave themselves ‘Bharat Ratna’ have never given proper respect to Babasaheb and when Hon’ble Prime Minister Modi ji is giving grand honor to Babasaheb Ambedkar ji, the Congress party has not been able to digest it. takes his name, whereas the truth is that the entire Congress party, from Jawaharlal Nehru to Rahul Gandhi, has always hated Babasaheb,” Mr. Pradhan added.

On Wednesday (December 18, 2024), the Congress and other opposition parties launched an all-out attack on Mr. Shah for his comments about Ambedkar and demanded his sacking, while Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other top BJP leaders rallied to his side and called the Congress’s ” “Anti-Ambedkar” stance has been exposed, he said.

Competing rallies by opposition and NDA MPs on the Ambedkar issue led to threats and clashes inside Parliament premises on Thursday (Dec 19, 2024) and BJP’s Pratap Sarangi was injured in the clash amid allegations that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi pushed him.
