Bahraich: It is said that when the official vehicle of the tehsildar of Nanpara hit the motorcyclist, the body was dragged for 30 km. 35-year-old Narendra Kumar Haldar of Payagpur died in a collision while returning home on the Nanpara-Bahraich road on Thursday evening. According to the police, Haldar’s body was trapped in the vehicle and dragged the entire distance to Nanpara tehsil.
District Officer Monica Rani has recommended the suspension of Biswas Naib Tehsildar Shailesh Kumar Awasthi, who was present in the vehicle at the time of the accident. The driver of the vehicle, Meraj Ahmed, has been arrested. Confirming the incident, Superintendent of Police Brinda Shukla said, ‘During the search for the location of the deceased Narendra Haldar and Tehsildar’s driver Meraj Ahmed, it was confirmed that the body was dragged 30 km to Nanpara.
Calling the incident ‘gross carelessness’, the officer added, ‘It is highly unlikely that a dead body would be stuck in a vehicle for thirty kilometers and no one would know about it. to be afraid.”
The official said that a detailed investigation is underway to find out the actual circumstances of the accident. “Police are examining CCTV footage along the 30-km stretch to reconstruct the sequence of events,” the SP said.
The police said that in the complaint given to the police in this regard, the family of the deceased mentioned that the vehicle belonged to the Tehsildar.
District Officer Monika Rani said, “The incident of a collision between a bike and a car has been made public. The Naib Tehsildar of Nanpara had come to Bahraich in the Tehsildar’s car for some work and was returning to Nanpara. The body was found. Nanpara Stuck in his car that drove to the tehsil, he said, “I didn’t know about the recommendation that the Naib Tehsildar who was riding in the car is going to be suspended.”
