The Kerala government has ordered an inquiry into the case of a female student being bitten by a snake in the classroom of an aided school in nearby Neyyattinkara on Saturday.

It is said that Neha, who is studying in class seven, was bitten by a poisonous snake while celebrating Christmas at the upper primary school on Friday.

He was immediately rushed to a nearby government hospital and his condition is now stable, sources said.

In a statement issued on Saturday, General Education Minister V Sivankutty said that the Director of General Education has been directed to investigate the incident and submit a report at the earliest.
