Tributes were paid on Victory Day in Hyderabad

A wreath-laying ceremony was held at the Virula Sainik Smarak near the General KV Krishna Rao Parade Ground in Secunderabad on Monday to commemorate Victory Day and to commemorate the heroes who sacrificed their lives in the 1971 Indo-Pakistan war.

The ceremony was attended by ex-servicemen, Army Public School students, soldiers and senior officers of the armed forces, who paid tribute to the heroes by laying flowers and wreaths at the war memorial. The Chief Guest, Air Vice Marshal PS Vadodkar, Commandant, College of Air Warfare, also paid homage.

Victory Day is celebrated every year on December 16 to commemorate India’s victory over Pakistan in the 1971 war, which resulted in the independence of Bangladesh.
