Travis headache: Ravi Shastri names Australian batsman for impressive performance against India | Cricket News

Former India coach Ravi Shastri praised Travis Head and his impact in the recent Border Gavaskar Trophy against India, citing Head’s improvement with the short ball as the recipe for his success.

Having been instrumental in helping Australia win the 2023 ODI World Cup and the 2023 World Test Championship, both against the Men in Blue, he has been a constant thorn in India’s side even before this series.

In the current series, he was slowly getting out for only 11 runs, but in the first innings of the first test, he scored 89 runs in the second innings and could not prevent the defeat of Australia. In his next two matches, he scored 140 in the second Test and 152 in the third.

“Because his new nickname is Travis Head’Dukh’. They’re looking for a balm in India. They’re looking for a balm for foot problems, knee problems (and) headaches. He’s ideal for that,” Shastri joked at the ICC review.

“I think she’s very smart. From what I saw of her three years ago, she’s improved a lot. Especially the way she plays the short ball. She prepares to leave. She’s learned to leave well sometimes. It’s a short one in her lap or something. Not a big shot all the time. He’s either ready to ride or play big shots. And if it’s middle, middle and off, he hits it in front of the square,” Shastri said in the ICC review.
