US President-elect Donald Trump has called on the US military to provide the American public with detailed information on the nature of the drone sightings, amid reports of a series of drone sightings on the country’s East Coast. have said.
“The government knows what’s going on, for some reason, they don’t want to comment. And I think they’d better tell our military what they know and what our president knows,” Trump said.

Pentagon spokesman Maj. Gen. Pat Ryder told reporters that the drones seen did not belong to the U.S. military because the military is limited by law from locating and tracking drones within United States territory, unless a threat appears.
“Flying drones is not illegal. Thousands of drones fly around the US on a daily basis. So, as a result, it’s not unusual to see drones in the sky, nor is it a sign of malicious activity or any public safety threat,” Ryder said.

A series of drone sightings began in New Jersey in November and have now been reported in at least six states, including New York, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Ohio.
“This also applies to drones flown near US military installations. Some fly near or over our bases from time to time. That, in itself, is not unusual, and the vast majority pose no physical threat to our military or affect our operations,” Pentagon spokesman Ryder added. Reuters.
