Hyderabad: The Southern Power Distribution Company of Telangana Limited (TSSPDCL) has launched several projects within GHMC limits to increase power supply ahead of summer. This includes decoupling and interlinking of 35 KV and 11 KV feeders, upgrading infrastructure and adding distribution transformers to meet increasing power demand.
Electricity demand in Greater Hyderabad has increased compared to last year’s dry season. Last year’s peak demand of 3,756 MW increased by 16 percent to 4,352 MW this year, while consumption increased by 12 percent to 90.68 million units. Officials predict that demand will be even higher in the summer of 2025.
Following the directives of the state government, TSSPDCL is working to ensure uninterrupted power supply despite increased demand.
