In the diamond jubilee ceremony of the university on December 20, Prof. Jaishankar Telangana State Agricultural University Governor and Chancellor Jishnu Dev Verma, Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao and Vice Chancellor Aldas Janaiah.
Prof. Jaishankar Telangana State Agricultural University (PJTSAU) Governor and Chancellor Jishnu Dev Varma has urged the university to integrate advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence, robotics and renewable energy in the agricultural sector.
Inaugurating the two-day diamond festival of the university on Friday (April 4), he called for cooperation among stakeholders to advance agricultural education, research and extension.
The governor praised the work of establishing an artificial intelligence lab and making agricultural education more accessible by reducing fees.
Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageshwar Rao urged scientists to guide farmers on suitable crops and technology in the face of climate change. He explained the government’s commitment to farmers through schemes like loan waiver, insurance and Rithu Bharosa.
Addressing the gathering, University Vice-Chancellor Aldas Janaiah said that the university has produced 32,000 agricultural graduates in the last 60 years.
