Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu said the government is firmly committed to taking action against land grabbers and correcting errors in land records during the much publicized re-survey conducted by the previous YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) government. The ruling coalition had sensed the conspiracy behind the AP Land Titling Act, which was aimed at grabbing private land, and repealed it soon after coming to power.

Speaking at Revenue SadasusAt Edupugallu in Krishna district on Friday, Mr. Naidu said that those encroaching on other people’s land would face severe consequences, including jail, and that it was the government’s effort to find a permanent solution to the land dispute. He said that the government should work hard to build houses for the past six months to fulfill the aspirations of the people.

The government received 95 thousand 263 applications for revenue tax until nowAnd it has taken steps to ensure accuracy of records by issuing QR codes and geo-tagging passbooks. After the formation of the government, 1 lakh 57 thousand 481 applications were received.

Mr. Naidu said that the people have given a decisive mandate to the TDP-JSP-BJP alliance and it is leaving no stone unturned to fulfill their aspirations. He noted that land disputes have been a major issue during the YSRCP regime and the NDA government has given high priority to resolve them. A large number of applications were for provision of record of rights and allotment of housing sites.

The CM said that the land re-survey by the YSRCP government has created chaos instead of solving the issues. The current government has spent Rs 12 crore to remove images of former CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy carved on survey stones, he said, adding that even a cent of land would be seized and strict action would be taken.
