Local Self-Government Minister MB Rajesh inaugurating the 11-day Swaralaya Co-ordinated Music and Dance Festival at Rapadi Open Air Auditorium in Palakkad on Saturday evening.

The curtain rose on the 11-day dance and music program organized by Swaralaya here on Saturday evening. In the inaugural session of the Swaralaya Syndication, there was a musical program to pay tribute to lyricists Bichu Tirumala and MD Rajendran.

A musical evening titled ‘Ejhu Swarangalum Thazhuki Varunnoru Ganam’ on the songs of Bichu Thirumala and MD Rajendran was enlivened at Rapadi Open Air Auditorium.

Singer Sudeep Kumar started the program by singing ‘Kuri Varachalum’, Rajalakshmi ‘Thushara Bindukkale’ and Chitra Arun ‘Ariyathe’.

The title song of the show ‘Ezhu Swarangalum Thazhuki Varunnoru Ganam’ was sung by Edappal Viswan.

Singer Bhavana Radhakrishnan and team will present the Carnatic Music Orchestra on Sunday evening. Rajitha Ravi’s Mohiniattam will be performed after that.

Inaugurating the Swaralaya Coordination Program, Local Administration Minister MB Rajesh said that art and cultural expression will help preserve the country’s constitutional values ​​when the country is facing unity challenges. He said that music and dance festivals should fulfill an artistic and social role.

MP VK Srikandan, MP Rahul Mamkootathil, MLA, President of Zilla Panchayat K. Binumol, Municipal President Pramila Sasidharan, District Collector S. Chitra and many other ministers were present.
