Raj Kundra claims Shilpa Shetty is being used as clickbait: ‘It’s unfair to drag her name into controversy’ | Bollywood news

Actor Shilpa Shetty’s husband and businessman Raj Kundra has addressed his ongoing legal troubles and how the media has affected him and his family’s public opinion. Kundra, who was arrested by the Mumbai police in 2021 on charges linked to the production and distribution of adult material, has consistently denied all allegations, insisting that his business ventures were legitimate. Kundra used the media to vent his anger over his wife Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty.

“Shilpa Shetty has made such a big name for herself here; she has worked so hard. It is very unfair that the controversy is mine, and you are attaching my wife’s name. Why? Because you get clickbait? You are tarnishing her reputation for ideas. It has nothing to do with her, so why involve her because I am her husband?” Kundra said.

Kundra stressed that people should refrain from dragging their families into their personal challenges. β€œI have been here for 15 years, from being an IPL team owner to a businessman who has invested heavily in India. I don’t think I’m well known. It is wrong to spoil someone’s honor in this way. You can say anything about me, but don’t implicate my family unnecessarily,” he said. After Kundra was implicated in a money laundering case linked to the production of adult content, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) summoned him for further questioning.

The investigation focuses on possible financial misconduct and diversion of funds from illegal industries. Kundra also expressed dismay at what he called a “trial by the media”. β€œI wasn’t hurt by the legal issues or the process of going through the legal system as much as the media hearings. I know the media is doing its job; They are reporting, but there are some in the media who create news without fact checking. Some classes have done this. As far as the media is concerned, we will always have a love-hate relationship. We cannot live without each other, but the facts must be checked,” he said.

Kundra also expressed his gratitude for the support he received from his wife Shilpa Shetty and her family. “My wife has been very supportive; she knows what I can and can’t do. My whole family has been very supportive,” he said.

Despite his legal challenges, Kundra insists that he lives a simple life with a small circle of friends, and prefers to focus on his family rather than the distractions of public life. He also urged the media to adopt a more responsible approach in reporting on sensitive issues.

β€œDon’t bring in things that aren’t true. Talk to my PR team if you have any doubts, but check the facts before writing anything,” he said.
