Expressing confidence in electronic voting machines, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has said that the Congress will oppose it only when the results are not as per its expectations.

Striking a different note within India in a recent interview PTIMr. Abdullah, who is part of the National Conference bloc, said, “EVMs cannot be a problem only when you lose an election.”

“They are the same EVM when you get more than 100 MPs and celebrate it as a victory for your party. You can’t go back after a few months and say you don’t like it now because the election results were different,” he said.

The Chief Minister said that if there is a problem with the EVMs, the Congress should continue to raise them. “If you have a problem, you should be persistent in raising it. If you don’t believe in machines, don’t try to contest elections,” Mr Abdullah said.

The Chief Minister said, ‘I have no problem if you cause problems in EVMs, as long as you win.
