Israeli airstrikes hit Yemen’s rebel-held capital port city

Dubai: The Israeli army launched an airstrike on Yemen’s Houthi rebels early Thursday morning.

An Israeli military statement said it struck targets both inland and on Yemen’s coast, without elaborating.

The Houthis have previously said they have targeted the rebel-held capital Sanaa and the Red Sea port city of Hodeidah.

The Houthis had earlier fired missiles at central Israel that set off sirens in Tel Aviv and other areas. The Israeli military said it shot down the missile before it entered Israeli territory.
